In this article, the author proposes a model to transfer knowledge from the universities to the productivesector. He proposes that this relationship can be established to promote the sustainable development of a country. The process to construct the model in itself consititutes an instrument to combine efforts and multiply the results of concerted actions. The model is operational in that in each phase and stage it explains what to do and how to bring about the desired action. In addition, it anticipates limitations and barriers. The role of the participants and the interaction between them is explicit: technical source, final user, sphere of activity, policies and productive organization. Finally, a mechanism is proposed for continuous follow-up that allows for its adaption to the specific conditions of each project.
