The objective of this article is to present the background, the actual situation and scope of Brazils Educational Ten-Year Plan. The historic context is summarized in order to later analyze the history and strategy for its implementation. The article examines the role of civil society and the municipalities, and presents some of the preliminary results of the activities conducted to date. The article concludes with a critical analysis of the same.
