The concepts of equality and justice in education are examined in the context of the Latin American educational system. The access to educational services, the equity within these institutions and the question of gender is one of the vectors of the analysis that crosses another vector that is composed of levels, forms and types. The analysis forms part of the socioeconomic and cultural environment in order to draw a conclusion about the role that rhetoric educational of change, the school, and references to social equality play that, cuasi symbolically, educational policies often allude to.
