Magazine La Educación

The Inter-American Journal of Educational Development, La Educación, was first published in 1956. It was managed by the Division of Education of the OAS, as mandated by the 10th Inter-American Conference (Caracas, Venezuela, 1954). The magazine was developed to offer an interdisciplinary focus to education and provide teachers, researchers and the general public with news and research regarding educational development in the Hemisphere. The magazine circulated in the Americas and was distributed to education professional who were directly or indirectly involved in activities sponsored by the Regional Program for Educational Development (PREDE) or the Division of Education of the OAS.

In 2009, La Educación became a digital magazine managed by the Educational Portal of the Americas. It reached around 100,000 readers in 34 OAS member states. Each issue offered articles on educational development in the Region, within a social and cultural context.

The last digital issue of La Educación was published in December 2012 with title “The Use of ICTs in Financial Education”. The digital editions and some printed editions of La Educación are available through this link. The digital magazine is currently being restructured to continue offering valuable research in education for the development of the Americas.
